  • Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE)

Our clients include federal agencies, municipalities, general contractors, land developers and other entities.

Here’s a little about our certifications and how our services can benefit your next heavy construction project.

MBE: Minority Business Enterprise

This certification from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) recognizes businesses that meet the criteria to be designated as a minority business enterprise (MBE).

Eligibility requirements include:

  • Being a U.S. for-profit business
  • Minimum 51 percent ownership by Black American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian Pacific or Subcontinent Asian individuals
  • A top executive officer who is identified with one of the above groups
  • U.S. citizenship and legal residency

WBE: Women’s Business Enterprise

The Women’s Business Enterprise certification is the most widely recognized certification for women-owned companies in the United States. Holding this designation gives business owners greater visibility, educational opportunities and the chance to network with thousands of other women entrepreneurs.

To be eligible for WBE certification, a business must be 51 percent or more owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.

DBE: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

Run through the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program implements solutions to ongoing discrimination and the lasting effects of past discrimination in national federally assisted programs related to:

  • Transit
  • Financial assistance
  • Contracting
  • Highway safety
  • and other markets

The program is designed to “level the playing field” by providing fair opportunities to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

SLBE: Small Local Business Enterprise

The SLBE certification provides exclusive contracting preferences and subcontracting opportunities that have been set aside for member businesses. To receive this certification, a business must be state-certified as a Small Business Enterprise or a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.

Recognition as a Small Local Business Enterprise gives companies the opportunity to bid on government contracts based on their geographic location. Restricted bidding, bid discounts and preference points are available to certified businesses.
