Kokosing Industrial for DC Water
Summary
R&R Contracting is a WBE subcontractor to Kokosing Industrial on the Filter Underdrain and Backwash System Upgrades at DC Water's Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. Kokosing put R&R forward by name for DC Water's subcontractor approval, and R&R is enrolled in DC Water's owner-controlled insurance program for the work. R&R's term runs from April 2026 to April 2030.
About the Project
Blue Plains, in Southwest Washington, is DC Water's wastewater treatment plant, which DC Water calls the largest treatment plant of its kind in the world. The upgrades replace the filters' block-type underdrains and dual media with nozzle-type underdrains and mono-media, and repair concrete in the filter walls, floors and channels. DC Water is delivering the work through a construction-manager-at-risk (CMAR) portfolio for the plant's filtration and disinfection facilities.
